We love Summer! The warmer days make you feel like getting off the couch and getting up and active. But you do need to be smart about the heat when working out, whether your hitting the gym or getting active outside.
Here are our top 5 tips for workout out in Summer:
Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids (preferably water) before, during and after physical activity.
If you don’t already, change your workout times to the cooler parts of the day — early in the morning or early in the evening
Take your exercise inside to your local Jetts club and enjoy working out in the cool air conditioning.
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing in breathable fabrics. It’s not sweating that cools the body; rather, the evaporation of sweat into the atmosphere…so don’t be afraid to get sweaty!
In the peak of Summer, it can be hard to drag yourself away from the pool and into the gym. For extra motivation workout with a friend. They’ll keep you accountable, and a little competitive rivalry is a great way to boost your results!
