5 Fitness Apps You Need For Summer

Summer is well on its way and it’s time to dust off those runners and get moving. We’ve done the research for you and found 5 apps you need to download this summer. The best part…they’re all FREE!

  1. Runkeeper

With the weather warming up, why not get outside for your next cardio session? Runkeeper is a great app to track your pace and workout distance. You can follow pre-set workout plans and get audio updates while you workout.

  2. Instant heart rate

If you don’t have a dedicated heart rate monitor, this free app will definitely come in handy. The app uses the camera’s flash and camera lens to detect colour change in our finger tip each time your hear beats. A real-time chart shows you every heart beat measured.

  3. PumpNlog

PumpNlog is an app that lets you track your progress during every workout. PumpNlog allows you to prefill your sets and reps before you work out, and make adjustments while you go. You can invite your Facebook friends to join in on a bit of a friendly competition too.

  4. MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal is a fast and simple calorie counter and food database. You can set your goal calorie intake for the day and log your meals as you go. You can create custom foods, track all your major nutrients, and even share your results with your friends for that bit of extra encouragement.

  5. Interval Timer

This handy little app is perfect for HIIT training. Whether you’re cycling, running, boxing or lifting weights, you can use the app to keep track of your work and rest periods. You can customize both the high and low intensity time as well as the rest time between sets.
